Sonic the Hedgehog isn’t the only Sega franchise turning 20 this year; PuyoPuyo is, too. While celebratory plans for Sonic’s 20th in the form of Sonic Generations were revealed weeks ago, it wasn’t until today that Sega announced what the plan for PuyoPuyo is.

While PuyoPuyo! 15th Anniversary was released on the Nintendo DS, PlayStation 2, PSP and Wii, PuyoPuyo! 20th Anniversary looks like it will only be a Nintendo DS game. Sega are including online play via Nintendo Wi-Fi, and say that 20th Anniversary will have both new and old games, like PuyoPuyo Sun and Fever.

PuyoPuyo! 20th Anniversary is scheduled to release in Japan on July 14th. The game will come in both regular (5,040 yen) and anniversary box (8,379 yen) editions.
