Impressions on Gearbox’s version of Samba de Amigo are rolling in and it sounds like… well Samba de Amigo on the Dreamcast minus maracas. Sega still has time to make a maraca shell, which I would gladly pay an extra $5 or so for.
New features? Does Nintendo Wi-Fi support count? The box art shows the Nintendo Wi-Fi logo, but Sega has not outline how it will be used. Downloadable songs are a possibility. Samba de Amigo Ver. 2000 included this feature and the Wii certainly has more storage space than one Dreamcast VMU.
Online play is another although possibility, but I can’t imagine it being as entertaining as playing Mario Kart online. Samba de Amigo is fun with others because it’s goofy. The group laughs are lost when you aren’t playing Samba de Amigo with people in the same room.
