Splosion Man developer, Twisted Pixel, are in the process of developing a new Kinect game to be published by Microsoft, titled The Gunstringer. Instead of being a regular shooting game, Gunstringer has you using Kinect to control a cowboy marionette (called “the Gunstringer”), like you would a puppet. Twisted Pixel say the game also has elements of vertical platforming.

The Gunstringer is a story about revenge. The Gunstringer is betrayed and left for dead by his own posse, and the game’s story takes place over a five-day period, with each day themed after a member of his posse that he’s targeting. Twisted Pixel say they drew inspiration from movies like Kill Bill and A Fistful of Dollars. Here’s a trailer:

The Gunstringer will be a retail Xbox Live Arcade release and is due out sometime this spring. The game allows for 2-player local co-op.
