MonkeyPaw, the company gutsy enough to bring untranslated Japanese PsOne games to North America, released their first original game on DSiWare. No, it’s not an auto-scrolling shooter or wacky fighting game with intergalactic giants.

It’s Ante Up: Texas Hold’em, a DSiWare poker game where you play cards with a Hollywood pop star and undercover cop. Ante Up: Texas Hold’em costs 500 DSiWare Points ($5) on Nintendo’s DSiWare shop.

We’re curious about this since MonkeyPaw’s president said in an interview with Siliconera they are also moving into game development. Their plan was to do "complete overhauls" on retro games. The first of which was supposed to be released in 2010, but the timeline didn’t stick.

Capcom arcade classics 1942 and Black Tiger are available for Wii today too at 800 Wii Points ($8) a piece.
