There’s Another McDonald’s Evangelion Commercial

McDonald’s has shared another Neon Genesis Evangelion commercial as part of it’s collaboration with the IP. However, unlike the previous commercial, this one reuses scenes from the anime and does not feature the uniquely designed EVA Unit. The commercial was published on X, also formerly known as Twitter.

The collaboration began on January 6, 2025, with the initial announcement appear in late December 2024. This included a look at a special EVA Unit, UNIT-M, which features the signature colors of the fast food chain, gold and red. The collaboration menu will include the Mexican Cheese Chicken Sandwich, he Hash Brown and Beef Burger with Garlic Mayo, and the Double Teriyaki Cheeseburger.

Alongside the release of collaboration items, a series of special toys will be available to obtain via a lottery system. This includes toys based on the EVA models for Shinji, Rei, and Asuka. However, these are a limited run item, and will be available until January 10, 2025. Which means consumers have four days to potentially grab one, if they’re lucky enough. The toys can be purchased through the McDonald’s app, and are exclusive to Japan.

The McDonald’s Neon Genesis Evangelion burgers are now available in Japan.
