Best World of Warcraft January 2025 Trading Post Items

It’s a new year and a new month, and that means a new slew of mounts and cosmetic items in the Trading Post, including a few very Goblin-esque items ahead of the next update. So to help you decide how to spend your precious Trader’s Tender, here are our picks for the best items in the World of Warcraft January 2025 Trading post.

Warforged Nightmare – Mount

Previously available in the Blizzard cash shop, this mechanical abomination can be yours for only 700 Tender. It’s a steep price but on par with other mounts, and significantly cheaper than the $30 it used to cost. Additionally, though the store entry doesn’t explain it you will also receive the Nightmarish Hitching Post toy in the mail after purchasing (log out and back in if it doesn’t appear immediately!), which will let you set down an item other players can click to turn their mounts into Warforged Nightmares for a time.

Ensemble: Green Clockwork Attire – Cosmetic Set

Also available in a yellowy-gold coloration, this new set would be perfect for any Tinker-themed characters and should let you fit right in when you head to Undermine. There’s also a lot of greebly little details like the gauge on one shoulder and a train plow on the other, as well as the helm looking like a conductor’s hat with goggles. It’ll set you back 650 Tender, but for a full set of transmog appearances it’s not too bad. For our money, the green set contrasts better with the bronze trimming, although you can only purchase the accompanying weapons in their gold color. A green set of weapons is available for filling this month’s Traveler’s Log, however the green is a shade too bright to really match.

Steamwheedle Artifact Excavator – Cosmetic Off-Hand

Another item that will fit right in with Patch 11.1, the Steamwheedle Artifact Excavator is an off-hand cosmetic that is just… a lit stick of dynamite. Perfect for any Goblin casters or perhaps the overzealous fire mage in your life, it will only set you back 60 Tender as well. The downside is only a few classes reliably use off-hand items and even then not all the time, but if you were a fan of the previous versions of this item and this one is a lovely graphical upgrade.

Ensemble: Waster Wander Tracker’s Kit – Cosmetic Set

Yet more Goblin-adjacent style, this full cosmetic set is a returning piece that will set you back 850 Tender. It’s no trivial chunk of change, but you do get a full set of hard-wearing, desert-themed armor that would look right at home on a Survival Hunter. It also includes two back pieces: a cloak and a dubiously functional ‘Dousing Machine’ backpack.

Copper Resonating Crystal – Mount

Another returning item, the Copper Resonating Crystal is a metallic scarab beetle that serves as a mount sure to delight any desert entomologists. Like the Warforged Nightmare, this one works for flying as well as on the ground with iridescent purple wings coming out from under the shell in the air or during the mount special animation. Suitably costly for such an ornate-looking mount, this one will cost 800 Trader’s Tender.
