Shinobi Retsuden returns! Now with post-time skip Naruto

Ah! It seems like there was a behind the scenes reason why Tomy upgraded Naruto: Shinobi Retsuden for North America. Ryne11 sends word (thanks!!) that Tomy is working on Naruto Shippuden: Shinobi Retsuden II and it shares plenty in common with the Naruto: Ninja Destiny. Battles are in “high speed” meaning the jostling frame rate from the original version is gone. Also the graphics have more of a cel-shaded feel to them. As for characters Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Sai and Yamato are seen in a trailer over on the V-Jump's teaser site.

While this information doesn’t mitigate the terse single player mode in the first game, it looks like Tomy listened to the feedback. One of the screenshots reveals a new mode and has Naruto running on a map. It is unclear how much additional gameplay this will add or if this is the main single player mode, but we should find out soon. Tomy plans to release Naruto Shippuden: Shinobi Retsuden II on April 24 in Japan.
