Shuhei Yoshida Names His 2024 Favorite Indie Games for PlayStation

With 2024 drawing to a close, Shuhei Yoshida appeared on the PlayStation Instagram on behalf of Sony to call out his favorite indie games of the year. His “best of” list only consisted of three titles. Topping it was Nine Sols

This is the full list of Yoshida’s top three games, from first to last. As expected, all are available on the PlayStation 5. Of the three, only Nine Sols is also available on the PS4.

  1. Nine Sols
  2. Pacific Drive
  3. Animal Well

Here’s the official post from the PlayStation Instagram account going over the three indie games Shuhei Yoshida considered the best in 2024.

It isn’t uncommon for Yoshida to share his thoughts on games. He’ll often offer these sorts of recommendations both at the beginning and end of a year. In January 2024, he suggested people keep an eye on the upcoming releases Baby Steps, Pacific Drive, The Plucky Squire, SCHiM, and Ultros.

This will be the last time we get to see Shuhei Yoshida share this sort of list on an official PlayStation account. In November 2024, he announced he would be leaving Sony. His last day is January 15, 2025.

Animal Well is available on the PS5, Switch, Xbox Series X, and PC. Nine Sols can be found on the PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. Pacific Drive is only out on the PS5 and PC.
