Build-crafting is an essential part of any ARPG, whether you’re looking to min-max your damage output or just find a functional build that’s engaging to play. But with a skill tree as expansive as this one you’re bound to change your mind at some point, so here’s how to Reset you Skill Points in Path of Exile 2.
How to Respec in Path of Exile 2
Thankfully, in Path of Exile 2 you will be able to reset your skill points much easier and often than in the first game, but the downside is it’s going to cost you. Once you reach about halfway through Act 1 you’ll meet an NPC who will let you respec as much as you want, but each point costs gold that can quickly add up. This NPC, the Hooded One, becomes available after defeating the story boss called Lachlann of Endless Lament at the end of the Cemetary of the Eternals area and returning to Clearfell camp.
To access the respec function in Path of Exile 2, you simply need to talk to the Hooded One and select Refund Passives. This opens up the skill tree, but you’ll be able to click on assigned skill nodes to unassign them as long as doing so won’t leave another assigned skill node cut off. All your skill nodes need to connect back to your starting spot. You’ll be able to see the cost of resetting your selected skill nodes, as well as your total gold, at the bottom of the screen next to the Apply Refunds button. When you’re done, click that button to finalize your choices.
