How to Check Fortnite Servers to See Downtime

Fortnite is one of the most impressive and successful online multiplayer experiences in the world. But even Epic Games is liable to have some server issues and downtime, especially when a new season or chapter begins. Fortunately, there are some ways to see the Fortnite servers downtime status and when they be back up.

How to Check the Official Server Downtime Status

There are two main ways to check the server downtime for this battle royale title, and they come down to the official and unofficial methods. If you want the official method, you’ll want to go to the Epic Games Public Status page. This has the servers for all of the games that Epic Games runs, including, of course, Fortnite.

It breaks down every aspect of this game, from the login status to voice chat to matchmaking and so on. In addition, every additional game within this title like Lego Fortnite and Fortnite Festival are also included here. Unlike other online games, Epic Games’ own server status page is quite reliable, so there is nothing wrong with using it.

Best Way to See Fortnite Servers Downtime

Besides the official Epic Games server status, there are unofficial community ways to check out if there is any Fortnite servers downtime going on. My favorite method is to use the Fortnite DownDetector page. While I appreciate the official server status page, this is what I check first when I seem to be having online or login issues.

This is because the DownDetector page is completely community-run. If you have issues online, you can report that. If enough players in the community report problems at once, it will instantly show there may be some server downtime. This is especially helpful if there is emergency maintenance that wasn’t planned for.

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 is available right now for Android, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
