Kadokawa has released an artbook featuring illustrations and scripts from the now-defunct mobile game NieR Reincarnation. The book’s title is NieR Re[in]carnation Official Document Collection – The Story of Prayer and the “Cage.” It is available physically and digitally in Japan with a price tag of 4,950 yen (~$32.65).
The B5-sized book contains a total of 528 pages. In addition to illustrations and character designs, the NieR Reincarnation artbook also contains scripts for the numerous stories featured in the game, from the main story to individual stories for each character and weapon. The book even includes scripts from episodes that Square Enix never added to the actual game as well.
The last pages of the book contain an in-universe chronology and excerpts from the Lost Archive. These segments also cover all prior NieR series entries released as of 2024.
People outside Japan may have to overcome hurdles to get the book. Most Japanese web stores selling the book can only ship domestically, and the digital edition on BookWalker is also geo-locked to be only purchasable inside Japan. The Kindle e-book may be available for purchase internationally via Amazon Japan.
The NieR Re[in]carnation Official Document Collection – The Story of Prayer and the “Cage” has now been published. This book covers the online-exclusive free-to-play mobile game that Square Enix had shut down worldwide on April 29, 2024.
