Square Enix announced on the official X (formerly Twitter) account for Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link that it had to delay the release of the game. There is no information on when it will come out.
The Tweet in question is quite short. After saying that it made the “difficult decision to delay the release,” it apologizes to the players and expresses appreciation for their patience. The Japanese version of the Tweet provides about as much information. Though Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link was supposed to come out in 2024, that obviously will no longer come to pass. The official channels for the game will let us know when Square Enix decides on a new release window.
Square Enix announced Missing-Link in 2022. This was part of the Kingdom Hearts 20th anniversary. Several closed betas occurred in 2023 and earlier 2024. Even during this period, there were a few problems with delays, though these were limited to the Android version. In terms of genre, this game will be an action RPG. We do know some details as well, such as it having a real-life GPS function, character creation, and an AP stamina system.
Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link is in development. Square Enix will announce the new release date in the future.
