Best Crops for Winter in Fields of Mistria (Ranked)

In most popular farming RPGs, Winter is a cooldown season. Crops can’t be planted in a traditional sense, and the player is encouraged to take a break and explore other activities. Fields of Mistria follows suit, but still leaves the door open for farming in the Winter! It might not be the most lucrative, but it’s a great opportunity to raise your farming level in preparation for Spring. If you’ve decided to spend your Winter planting seeds, then make sure you’ve got the best seeds. Take a look at the best crops for Winter in Fields of Mistria, ranked in terms of their value and efficiency.

3. Cauliflower

If you’ve made it to your first Winter in Fields of Mistria, it’s unlikely you’re lacking in funds. For this reason, we can skip the basic Beets and head straight to the Cauliflower. Cauliflower is cheap at 40 tesserae, it takes six days to grow, and you can sell it for 75 tesserae. There’s nothing else noteworthy about it. There is, however, a recipe you earn from shipping your first cauliflower. “Roasted Cauliflower” only needs one cauliflower to cook, and sells for 80 tesserae. You can see where this is headed. Harvest your cauliflower, but spend some time cooking it to squeeze out a little more profit out of it! It’s nothing special, but cauliflower is still one the best crops to work with during the Winter.

2. Daikon Radish

Following the same patterns as cauliflower is the Daikon Radish. Like other intermediate crops in other seasons, daikon radish costs 70 and sells for 180 tesserae. The caveat is its nine day growth cycle. Patience is often rewarded in Fields of Mistria. Although nine days might seem like a long time to wait for a crop to mature, the profits can’t be argued with. Growing one daikon radish is the equivalent of generating 12 tesserae per day. Multiply that by however many seeds you plan on buying, and you’re looking at a small fortune! Unlike cauliflower, there’s no clever cooking strategy to be found here. Daikon radishes need soy sauce to cook into “Simmered Daikon,” which will net you 10 less tesserae in profit per unit sold.

1. Snow Peas

Simply put, the best choice for Winter farming. Snow Peas are identical to other crops that generate multiple harvests. Their seeds cost 300 tesserae, it takes them five days to reach maturity, and they produce new harvests every three days after that. Each snow pea sells for 125 tesserae- but don’t sell them just yet! It’s a safe assumption to say you might have some Water Chestnuts in a chest somewhere. These are only foragable during the other seasons, but they don’t have a whole lot of uses- except for cooking. Sell one of your snow peas to unlock the recipe for “Sauteed Snow Peas,” and get ready to use those water chestnuts to cook the rest. Sauteed Snow Peas sell for 140 tesserae. This is 10 more tesserae than you would get if you shipped a snow pea and a water chestnut together. Smart players will save up their water chestnuts for the Winter, when they can use them on this recipe to maximize profits.
