Best Fields of Mistria Gifts for March

Fields of Mistria is home to a heartwarming group of characters. Over the course of your playthrough, you’ll grow closer to the townsfolk of Mistria as you help them rebuild the town. Most of the people you meet are warm and welcoming, but March is a slightly different story. Ornery and stand-offish, March prefers to keep his distance from you until you get to know him better. This arm’s length approach makes befriending March a challenge. If you want to make the people of Mistria like you, handing them gifts is the best way to make it happen- March included. Just because a gift is their favorite, however, doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the best one to hand over. Here are the best Fields of Mistria gifts for March, and why you should focus on them.

Best Fields of Mistria Gifts for March

Gifts in Field of Mistria are categorized by how much a character likes them. March’s “loved” gifts offer the most points towards your friendship with him, but they’re hard to come by. The “Perfect” ores he loves are rare drops from the mines, and therefore inconsistent gifts. He loves the “Sushi Platter” dish, but it requires specific kinds of fish and a high cooking skill. Because of this, it’s better to mainly focus on gifts March “likes” instead. His “liked” gifts are easier to find, and this means it’s possible to give them to him more often, making up for the lower friendship points you earn from them.

Being a blacksmith, March fittingly likes to receive ingots he can use to hone his craft. However, March is just as happy to receive the unprocessed ore as he is the ingot. He likes copper, iron, and silver ore alike, and this works greatly in your favor if you’re in the Mines often. No matter what tier of the mines you’re spelunking in, you’ll no doubt collect one of the kinds of ore he’s looking for. Save yourself the trouble and throw some his way whenever you see him! Focusing on gifting ore will facilitate delving the mines, which might yield some of the “perfect” versions March loves as well. It’s a simple and cost-effective way to earn March’s trust.

Beer

Once a week, all the villagers gather at the inn to spend time together. Talking to March while he’s here is a big hint about one of his favorite things. March likes beer! While you can’t get it for free, beer is still an inexpensive item at 100 tesserae each. You can buy it from the inn’s shop menu, in bulk if needed! If going down the mines fills you with dread, or you’re just not in the mood to go down there on the particular day you want to give March something nice, beer is a good alternative. With beer, you’re basically choosing to save time in exchange for money. It gives the same amount of friendship points as ore does, so you don’t lose out on anything by swapping it in as your go-to gift!

Coffee

Another alternative to giving March beer is dousing him in coffee. Coffee is sometimes obtainable from Balor’s Wagon, but you can reliably get it from Darcy’s Stall every Sunday as well! In either case, it sells for 100 tesserae, making it the same price as the beer. There isn’t a strict difference between this and beer when it comes to earning March’s affections. Still, having a surplus of coffee on-hand does provide a quick speed boost outside of being a solid gift choice.

You should max out March’s friendship in no time if you’re focusing on these gifts. Just remember not to overdo it. You can only hand out gifts to each villager once a day, so manage your time wisely! The mines will be your central focus while befriending March, so make you read up on how to unlock the mines in Fields of Mistria.
