Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake King's Choice

Those who brave the trials of Skyfell Tower, battle Robbin’ ‘Ood, and return the crown to the King of Romaria will get a little surprise. In honor of your deeds, the King offers nothing less than the Kingdom of Romaria to you. If you take him up on his offer, you’ll be crowned as the new king. You’ll get a fancy new look, and all of the people of the kingdom will have new things to say to you. Not bad! As a king, you can’t exactly go rambling around the countryside beating up local wildlife, though. Fighting evil demon lords? Right out. Maybe this wasn’t a good idea.

Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake King's Return

To stop being king, you need to find the old king and make him take his job back. If you talk to the townspeople and people in the castle, you’ll get some idea of where to find him. You see, the former king has a liking for gambling. In the Kingdom of Romaria, there’s only one option for that. Head to the Monster Arena in the basement of the item and weapon shop and pass through the big doors into the arena itself. Make your way to the left side of the arena, and you should find the ex-king cheering in the stands. Talk to him and ask him to take back his crown, and after a short cutscene you’ll be free to go! Oh, and if you ever feel like being the king again, you need only ask him.
