Up and coming farming RPG Fields of Mistria already has a decent collection of things to do despite being in early access. Decorate your farm, explore Mistria to uncover ancient artifacts, or get to know the townspeople trying to restore the city to its former glory. Like any good slice-of-life simulator, not everything in Fields of Mistria is available to you from the get-go. Unlocking new features and activities requires completing quests, upgrading your farm, and finding the right tools for the job. This includes fishing, the classic pastime any good life sim couldn’t go without. Before you can start fishing, you’ll have to find (or make) a fishing rod. Keep reading to learn how to get a fishing rod in Fields of Mistria.
How to Get a Fishing Rod in Fields of Mistria
The easiest and earliest way to get a fishing rod in Fields of Mistria is to head over to the tackle shop on the beach. From your farm, head West into the Sweetwater farm area and then go South. The tackle shop will be immediately on the left-hand side upon entering the beach area. Once inside, interact with the shop sign in front of you to open up the tackle shop’s menu. You can buy a worn fishing rod for 500 tesserae. It doesn’t have great range, and is quickly replaced by the copper fishing rod, but it’ll make fishing available fairly early in your playthrough. Fishing has its own skill associated with it, completing with redeemable skills from the dragon statue back at your farm. If you’re aiming to fill out the town’s museum to earn lots of rewards, you’ll need to collect all kinds of different fish.
How to Make a Fishing Rod in Fields of Mistria
If you’d rather not spend the 500 tesserae on a fishing rod, then make one yourself! The earliest fishing rod you can craft is the Copper Fishing Rod. It require four copper ingots, be crafted at the anvil outside the blacksmith for ten copper ore each. To get copper ore, you’ll need to unlock the mines. To do that, your town rank must be at least level 10. Town rank can be raised by completing villager requests, filling out the museum, and shipping items every day. As you can see, building your own fishing rod will take quite a bit of time. It may prove more fruitful to spend the tesserae on the worn fishing rod, and play the game at your own pace. At any rate, once you have the copper ingots, you can craft your new fishing rod at the same anvil you made the ingots at.
Once you get the hang of fishing, try collecting fish from different bodies of water! For a more in-depth guide on how to unlock the mines in Fields of Mistria, click here. If you’d like to know how to move furniture and buildings in Fields of Mistria, click here.
