We Can Only Trade Certain Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket Cards

Here’s the exact portion of the announcement dealing with the upcoming trade feature for cards in Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket. While it does offer the launch window and promise the number that can be swapped with other players will grow, it doesn’t note what the limitations will look like. The game works like the actual card game, which means there are basic, stage 1, and stage 2 Pokemon, Trainer cards that involve items or Supporters, and more special ones. It could be possible that ex, full art, or Immersive could be off the table.

“In addition, we are aiming to add a feature that allows certain cards to be traded starting in January 2025. We are planning to gradually expand the selection of cards that are able to be traded.”

It is unknown if that could also be a reference to the fact that the library of available cards will grow. The announcement also confirmed more boosters will launch in 2024.

Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket is available on mobile devices, and the trade feature for cards will arrive in January 2025. Almost immediately after launch, it passed 10 million downloads worldwide.
