According to the announcement post on X (formerly known as Twitter), the actresses depicting the titular quintuplets are all members of the fourth generation of idol group Hinatazaka46. The stage play will be a romantic comedic that exceeds 500% on the cuteness meter. So far, the cast list only shows who will be playing the quintuplets. All of the girls have two actresses depicting them, with the exception of Yotsuba, who has three.

Here is the cast list for the The Quintessential Quintuplets stage play:

  • Ichika: Nanami Konishi, Kirari Takeuchi
  • Itsuki: Mitsuki Hiraoka, Haruka Yamashita
  • Miku: Sumire Miyachi, Rina Watanabe
  • Nino: Tamaki Ishizuka, Rio Shimizu
  • Yotsuba: Yoko Shogenji, Honoka Hirao, Kaho Fujishima

Again, all of these girls are part of Hinatazaka46.

The Quintessential Quintuplets is a popular anime and manga series featuring high school Futaro Uesugi, who tutor the rich Nakano quintuplets for money to pay off his father’s debt. However, the girls are terrible students and don’t care for studying. Over time, Futaro befriends the girls. He also marries one of them, but the identity of which sister he marries is a secret until close to the end. There have been many movie and game adaptations of the story over the years.

You can watch the The Quintessential Quintuplets stage play in Japan from March 8 to 23, 2025.
