Charmmy Kitty Lamp Lights Up the Room

A desk lamp in the form of Charmmy Kitty, Hello Kitty’s pet cat, will come out on November 28, 2024. The lamp will cost 4862 JPY after tax, which would convert to approximately $31.95. [Thanks, Dengeki Online!]

The lamp is small, standing at just around 15 centimeters tall and 10 centimeters wide. It houses an LED lightbulb and there are three different brightness settings you can use. Because of its small size and LED light, which prevents the lamp from getting too hot, you can also use it for a child. Yet another safety feature in the lamp is that it will turn itself off after about an hour, so you don’t have to worry about falling asleep with it on. Finally, it uses a USB charger. So if you don’t want to move it somewhere or use the socket for something else, you can use it as a cordless light. Since it just looks like a Charmmy Kitty statue, you can just use it as decor if you want.

Charmmy Kitty looks very similar to Hello Kitty, with her lack of a mouth and ribbon. However, she walks around on four legs and has slightly unkempt fur, making her look more like an animal than her owner. The charm around her neck, from which she derives her name, is the key to Hello Kitty’s jewelry box. While she is a part of the Sanrio canon, the company announced earlier this year that it would discontinue Charmmy Kitty, among others, from its Puroland theme park.

The Charmmy Kitty lamp will come out on November 28, 2024. It is available for pre-order via storefronts like Amazon.
