Bandai Spirits opened global pre-orders for a new Chogokin Tamagotchi Robo action figure. This crossover robot action figure will also come with an Original Tamagotchi that is also actually playable. The price for this set will be 9,900 yen (~$64.85).
The owner will be able to attach or detach the Tamagotchi from the die-cast robot figure. In addition, they can also configure the robot to have it transform into a UFO. The figure’s UFO mode will also have wheels set up to let the owner move it on the floor.
But while Chogokin (Super Alloy) figures are known for using die-cast metal, that will only apply to the robot figure. The actual Tamagotchi in the set will only come with a gold plating to emulate the alloy metal feel.
Bandai Spirits has also uploaded a new trailer featuring the crossover action figure on its YouTube channel:
This product will specifically appear to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Chogokin die-cast figures, which appeared first in 1974. While Tamagotchi also had a 20th anniversary celebration in 2024, that was intended for the Tamagotchi Connection lineup that Bandai launched in 2004. The original Tamagotchi launched in late 1996, so it will have its 30th anniversary in 2026.
The Chogokin Tamagotchi Robo action figure set will be available worldwide in May 2025.
