This new board game will play very similarly to regular Mahjong. However, the tiles will feature popular Sanrio characters like Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, Bad Badtz-Maru, and Keroppi. The package will contain a total of 84 tiles that feature these mascots. The board game will support two to four players.

Bandai has also shared a list of possible winning combinations that can reward in-game money using the coins provided in the package. For example, completing three-of-a-kind hands of Cinnamoroll, Pochacco, and Pompompurin tiles will result in a Wonderful Set win, which is worth 480,000 Jara Coins.

Sanrio Characters are not the only theme Bandai has used for its Donjara Neo board game lineup. The company had also previously released mahjong-like board games themed after the likes of One Piece, Spy x Family, Umamusume, Minions, and Hololive Vtubers.

The Donjara Neo: Sanrio Characters board game will be available in Japan on November 9, 2024.
