How to Get the Coldflame Tempest Mount – A Cool Twenty Years

A Cool Twenty Years is the meta-achievement for WoW‘s 20th Anniversary, requiring players to earn eight smaller achievements tied to each event activity. Earning this achievement rewards you with the Coldflame Tempest — a flying mount inspired by both the (in)famous Ashes of Al’ar and Blizzard employee service rewards.

While most event rewards can be earned with the base game, the Coldflame Tempest requires The War Within expansion. Now is a great time to jump into the expansion, as its weekly quests reward Bronze Celebration Tokens, meaning you can purchase even more updated Tier 2 sets.

How to Get Frayfeather Hippogryph

Frayfeather Hippogryph is a new flying mount purchasable from Bobadormu for 5000 Timewarped Badges outside the Caverns of Time. Bobadormu is found in the center ring at 62.74, 50.30 and sells various Classic-inspired goodies for Timewarped Badges.

Bobadormu is the new Classic Timewalking vendor and will almost definitely return yearly. If you’re running low, save your Timewarped Badges for other prizes or Timewalking weeks.

Depending on their faction, players who complete the Alterac Valley of Olde Achievement receive either a Frostwolf Snarler (Horde) or Stormpike Battle Ram (Alliance). This achievement is earned by collecting Timewarped Badges from participating in the Korrak’s Revenge PvP Brawl, which can be found in Group Finder (I).

How to get Incognitro, the Indecipherable Felcycle

Unfortunately, riders itching to burn rubber and fel are out of luck — at least for now. Icognitro, the Indecipherable Felcycle is a data mined ground mount linked to the 20th Anniversary event that is not yet available. It will most likely be an award for the upcoming Guest Relations quests, beginning October 28th, 2024.

For fellow Dew lovers, evidence suggests that the upcoming World of Warcraft x Mountain Dew promotion should feature purple and red variations of Icognitro to match the respective new flavors. Thanks, Wowhead!

How to get Core Hound and Obsidian Worldbreaker (Deathwing)

Storekeeper Reginald is a vendor at 62.90 51.04 outside the Caverns at Time that sells items from previous Anniversary events in exchange for Bronze Celebration Tokens. This includes the Core Hound and Obsidian Worldbreaker mounts, sold for 20 Tokens each.

I recommend prioritizing earning these mounts first if you missed out initially, as Storekeeper Reginald won’t return for at least five real-world years. Mr. Reginald conveniently gets lost in time until the dates of major World of Warcraft anniversary milestones.

How to Get Azure Worldchiller and Illidari Doomhawk

The Azure Worldchiller and Illidari Doomhawk both have a slight chance of dropping from the Doomwalker World Boss roaming near the Caverns of Time. If luck hasn’t been with you toward the event’s end, you can purchase either mount for 5000 Timewarped Badges from Historian Ma’di at 62.66, 50.43.

How to Get Grand Black War Mammoth

The Doomwalker and Archavon World Bosses in Tanaris both can drop the Grand Black War Mammoth. This mount appears to have a much higher drop chance than the Azure Worldchiller and Illidari Doomhawk.

The Grand Black War Mammoth can drop from the Doomwalker or Archavon World Bosses in Tanaris. This mount appears to have a significantly higher chance than the other World Boss mounts during the event and the non-event Archavon bosses.

How to Get Heavenly Onyx Cloud Serpent

The Sha of Anger World Boss in Tanaris has a low chance of dropping the Heavenly Onyx Cloud Serpent when defeated. This is the same mount available all year round when the boss is in its usual location in Pandaria, so don’t panic if you don’t strike gold.

World of Warcraft, and The War Within expansion, are available for PC.
