Bandai Namco Re-Registered Battle Destiny Trademark in 2024

For the record, Gundam SEED: Battle Destiny originally appeared for PlayStation Vita in Japan on June 7, 2012. The title is a third-person action game featuring characters and mechs from the Gundam SEED series’ Cosmic Era universe. It included content from the original 2002 anime show, the 2004 sequel Destiny, the 2006 original net animation Stargazer, and early Astray side stories.

Battle Destiny let players create original avatar pilots who can be a Coordinator, Natural, or Biological CPU and affiliated with either the Earth Alliance or ZAFT. While they could participate in story missions for the chosen side, a mid-story branch would allow them to join the third faction led by Lacus Clyne and Kira Yamato.

A trademark is generally valid for ten years in Japan. As Bandai Namco re-registered the “Battle Destiny” trademark more than ten years after releasing the game in 2012, it raised the possibility of a sequel or remaster of the title on newer platforms.

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED: Battle Destiny is available for PlayStation Vita in Japan.
