How to Complete Chromie’s Codex in the WoW Anniversary Event

Following the release of The War Within, World of Warcraft’s 20th Anniversary Event is now underway. The anniversary event adds a ton of new content for players to enjoy. From the return of an old-school PvP mode to discovering new secrets, there’s plenty to do and see while it’s live. Included in the festivities is a new scenario players can participate in that involves assisting Chromie, the NPC you speak to in order to timewalk to previous World of Warcraft campaigns, with sorting out time-displaced enemies. Here’s how to complete Chromie’s Codex in the WoW Anniversary Event, as well as how to access it and what the rewards are.

How to Begin Chromie’s Codex in the WoW Anniversary Event

Once you log in to WoW for the first time after the event begins, a window will immediately open up allowing you to accept the “Chromie’s Codex” quest. If you exit out of the window without accepting the quest, don’t worry. You can find it under the “Suggested Content” tab in your adventurer journal, accessible by pressing Shift+J by default. Use the arrow buttons to scroll through suggested content until “Codex of Chromie” shows up. You can then click the “Start Quest” button to initiate it. Alternatively, you can find Chromie in Tanaris near the Caverns of Time. Chromie will be standing next to a claw-like set of stones just below the big top. She is standing across and to the right of the photography stage. Speak to her to begin the quest.

Once accepted, you can queue up for “The Codex of Chromie” scenario using your party finder. Under the Dungeon Finder menu, click the dropdown arrow and select “The Codex of Chromie.” This will queue you for the scenario.

How to Complete Chromie’s Codex in the WoW Anniversary Event

The scenario itself is relatively straightforward. Chromie will lead you through an instanced version of Silithus, where time-displaced enemies are causing havoc. Each phase of the scenario will feature a relatively basic set of objectives. You may be asked to clear an area of a certain faction of enemies, or re-enact historic battles by standing at designated locations. Regardless, after you’ve completed three phases, you’ll then fight one of Azeroth’s famous bosses from across its history. Defeat the boss and talk to Chromie or interact with the portal to return to the Caverns of Time. Enjoy your reward!

You can re-run the scenario for diminished rewards, and these will refresh on daily reset. This means you can queue up for “Codex of Chromie” at least once every day for the maximum reward. If it’s your first time clearing the scenario, make sure to speak to Chromie in the anniversary event area to turn in the quest for extra rewards!
