Metal Slug Tactics Release Date and Ikari Warriors Revealed

Dotemu finally revealed the release date for Metal Slug Tactics, the strategy game that not only stars characters and Slugs from the series, but it turns out Ikari Warriors ones as well. The game will be available on November 5, 2024 on consoles and PCs. There’s also a launch trailer to highlight what to expect.

While the focus of the Metal Slug Tactics launch trailer is on general gameplay, it also introduces the three Ikari Warriors characters who will be playable in the game. Even if someone isn’t familiar with that game, they will likely recognize them from The King of Fighters. Clark Still, Leona Heidern, and Ralf Jones will be present in the game.

Each one of the three Ikari Warriors characters fills a different role in Metal Slug Tactics. Clark will be a character who can be used to reposition enemies and inflict status effects. We can see him attack with a gun and knife at the 15 second mark of the new trailer. At the end of his portion, we see how he can toss an enemy behind him toward an ally after attacking.

Leona comes up at the 30 second mark. Her portion of the trailer starts with her attacking an enemy with a gun. This defeats them. When that happens, a replica of her appears where they fell. We also see her use an AOE attack that leaves a fire hazard behind on tiles. We also get to see how her clones can help with attacks.

Finally, the end part of the trailer focuses on Ralf gameplay. His close-range knife attacks are shown on maps. We also get to see a number of fire-based AOE attacks dealt to enemies right in front of him. In one finisher toward the end of the video, we get to see him hit four enemies surrounding him at once.

Here’s the full Metal Slug Tactics release date trailer that also features the Ikari Warriors that will appear.

Metal Slug Tactics will launch on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC on November 5, 2024.
