FFXIV Community Finder Update Adds Founding Member Recruitment

Square Enix updated the FFXIV Community Finder on the Lodestone, and it now makes it possible to start founding member recruitment. People need to go through the official website to create pages to begin searching for additional members in-game.

Here’s how it works. First, we need to visit the site. The Community Finder lets you search by Data Center and World. You can select to start a New Recruitment by logging in and heading to the start of the page. From there, you can create a page for a Free Company, Cross-World Linkshell, or PvP Team and start founding member recruitment in the FFXIV Community Finder. Each one of those options allows for multiple founding members to exist. However, as Square Enix noted, this can’t be done for regular Linkshells.

This is the main addition, but it isn’t the only FFXIV Community Finder update. There are also some quality of life adjustments for those using it to recruit and people who are looking to sign up for new groups. If you created a listing for a new member or founding member, you can see them in the Watchlist section. These will be in a different section from items you added to your Watchlist. All of those will be under the “Listings Created” heading. The other change lets someone who is commenting on a listing set their comment so it can only be seen by recruiting community members.

Community Finder updates are relatively rare for FFXIV. One of the last ones appeared in August 2021. That added the Watchlist feature.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. The next Letter from the Producer Live 84 airs 4am PT/7am ET/1pm CET on November 1, 2024.
