How to Start Gardening and Get Seeds in Metaphor: ReFantazio

There are a lot of features available in Metaphor: ReFantazio that are pretty easy to miss. One of the most important features is gardening, which players can unlock in Metaphor: ReFantazio and get seeds for. These seeds allow players to grow some highly valuable items that will make the game much more straightforward, especially in the early hours.

How to Unlock Gardening in Metaphor: ReFantazio

If you want to unlock gardening, you need to progress past unlocking the Gauntlet Runner and even doing the entire Martira storyline. For me, I unlocked this feature around July 15 in the in-game calendar. You will have to wait until then for you to get this crucial feature and be able to use it from then on.

You can find the planter onboard the Gauntlet Runner near the bookshelf. What you can do here is plant some seeds and they will grow in a period of time depending on the seed. However, there is a catch here. Like when you first unlock cooking, planting a seed will take up a slot of time.

How to Get Seeds in Metaphor: ReFantazio

Of course, even if you unlock gardening in Metaphor: ReFantazio, you won’t be able to do anything with it unless you get some seeds. There are some shops that sell these, especially in the later towns you visit in the world. Thankfully with fast travel, what you can do is hop instantly from town to town and check the shops. The inventory can change as you progress through the story.

There are different types of seeds you can grow. Some will give you bait for fishing, others will give you food ingredients for cooking dishes, and still others can give you the highly valuable items that grant Archetype experience. These can be quite lucrative items if you have free time in the game to grow them.

Metaphor: ReFantazio is now available for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
