The company noted that there were 2,606 staff entries in the leaks. The entries contained the full names of the staff members and their in-company email addresses. The leaks included data from both current and former full-time and contract workers of Game Freak. However, the company did not confirm whether any confidential game development materials were included in the leaks or not.

Game Freak is working on re-constructing and re-inspecting its servers while enhancing security to prevent another breach from occurring in the future. In addition, it suggested that former workers contact the company via the Google Form link provided in the document.

The server breach and data leaks came during a crucial moment for Game Freak, as the company also held an online recruitment campaign around the end of August 2024. One of the new games the company is working on around the period is Pokemon Legends Z-A, which is slated for worldwide release on Nintendo Switch in 2025.
