Square Enix is attempting to lure people back into Final Fantasy XIV again, as it kicked off another one of the Free Login Campaign events for the MMORPG on October 11, 2024. This recurring activity, which we previously saw return back in June 2024, gives players who are currently inactive and not subscribing a chance to play for a few days again.
Here’s how it works. If you want to qualify for the Free Login Campaign, your account has to be in the “inactive” state. This means you aren’t subscribing and haven’t played. If it’s been 30 days since you last played and subscribed, which means you have’t played since about September 10, 2024, you’re good. So long as you owned and played it in the past, you can now come back between October 11-31, 2024.
This promotion gives you basically 96 hours to play Final Fantasy XIV again. The counter starts the second you start taking advantage of the promotion. As such, kicking it off on a Friday (like today) and then having a whole weekend of free time is deal. This is because it isn’t 96 hours of total playtime. Rather, you only get four days all together, in a row. So if someone takes advantage of the offer on October 11, 2024, then the last day of their free session will be October 14, 2024.
The Final Fantasy XIV Free Login Campaign started ahead of another two returning events in the MMORPG. The Moogle Treasure Trove: The Hunt for Goetia starts on October 15, 2024. After that, All Saints’ Wake kicks off again. That comes back on October 18, 2024 and involves a Halloween-themed outfit and furnishing. So someone taking advantage of the Free Login Campaign may want to wait until October 18, 2024 and also participate in both activities when they come back.
Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the Free Login Campaign event is in effect again until October 31, 2024.
