Nintendo announced that it is starting a Nintendo Switch Online: Playtest Program, but only those who subscribe to the highest Expansion Pack tier can apply. People must have been subscribed at that tier by 3pm PT/6pm ET on October 9, 2024, and those of us selected will be able to test an undisclosed new feature.
Needing to have an active Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack subscription isn’t the only requirement to apply for the Playtest Program. People also need to be 18 years old and be in France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, the UK, and the USA. People can apply at the official site to be considered until October 15, 2024. However, that could close early if enough folks apply.
Nintendo also explained a bit about how the selection process will go. For people outside Japan, it is “first-come, first-serve.” For those in Japan, a lottery system will be in effect. Up to 10,000 people may be selected for this test, which will begin on October 23, 2024. The playtest will end on November 5, 2024.
Nintendo Switch Online and its Expansion Pack tier are available for the Nintendo Switch, and the Playtest Program applications are open ahead of the test starting on October 23, 2024.
