How to Start Metaphor: ReFantazio Basilio Bond, Unlock Berserker

Once you get to some of your later allies in Metaphor: ReFantazio, you don’t automatically get a bond right away. You actually need to seek them out to start it. While Basilio doesn’t have a whole quest tied to his Bond like Eupha or Junah, you do need to make the effort to find him in Metaphor: ReFantazio to start it and unlock the Berserker Archetype.

How do I start to bond with Basilio and unlock Berserker in Metaphor: ReFantazio?

Like all of your allies, Basilio will automatically join your party after certain events in Metaphor: ReFantazio. After September 11th, you can make your move. He’s a part of your crew since that day and will already have been a playable ally for a battle. When you’re in Altabury Heights and preparing for the September 22nd deadline, Gallica will even hint at going to speak with him after leaving the town’s inn one morning.

The key I found to starting the Basilio Bond in Metaphor: ReFantazio is to take one of the new sidequests that popped up in that area, like “Warmth in Winter,” then head out in the runner. On the way, head to the bottom floor of the vehicle, near where More can be found. Basilio will be there. Speaking to him will pass time and kick off Rank 1 of your relationship. He won’t be in town, so you need to actually travel somewhere and speak to him while doing so to kick this off.

This will also unlock the Berserker Archetype for all characters in Metaphor: ReFantazio. Note that while Basilio starts with it, another character will need to be Rank 10 in Brawler, Knight, and Warrior and spend 12,000 MAG to unlock it. Then to gain access to the Destroyer advanced form, you need to be at Rank 20 Berserker, reach Rank 6 Bond with Basilio, and have 38,000 MAG.

Metaphor: ReFantazio is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. There is also a demo available.
