Here’s how to unlock the Faker Archetypes in Metaphor: ReFantazio

  • Faker: Unlocked after starting Alonzo’s follower story
  • Trickster: Reach Rank 20 of Faker; reach Rank 8 with Alonzo; 24,000 MAG

If you don’t spend time working on your Royal Virtues, you’ll have some trouble getting through Alonzo’s follower story. For example, to finish it, you’ll need to max out your Courage. The Faker and Trickster Archetypes are worth the hassle though. Outside of the Archetypes, Alonzo’s bonuses focus on giving you deals and discounts at magic shops, which can be useful.

What is the Faker good for?

As mentioned earlier, Faker is a support Archetype that specializes in moves like Tarunda and Rakunda. These abilities weaken enemies to reduce how much damage you take, as well as increase how much damage they take. It might not be an Archetype you want to permanently keep a character in, but you can certainly benefit from learning Debilitate or Vidyartha.

While there’s no rule stopping you from letting anyone research any Archetype, some characters are better suited for certain classes than others. In Faker’s case, I highly recommend Heismay for the job since his best Archetype Thief works really well with Faker’s skills. Because so much of Faker’s usage comes from its skills rather than relying on a character’s innate stats, you can give it to anyone and they can work well in this niche.

Metaphor: ReFantazio is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC.
