How to Start Metaphor: ReFantazio Junah Bond, Beat Kokasadors

Junah might prove perplexing in Metaphor: ReFantazio as, even though she’ll join you after the events of August 12th and be playable character, you won’t be able to go through Bond events with her or take on her Masked Dancer Archetype. The thing is, you can’t properly befriend her and gain access to all that until after you’re on Virga Island. Plus, you need to beat the Kokasadors boss in Metaphor: ReFantazio to unlock the role and relationship.

How do I start the Junah Bond events and gain the Masked Dancer Archetype in Metaphor: ReFantazio?

Once you get to Virga Island and are able to freely roam around, you’ll eventually find Junah on the beach. She’ll be moved by a problem the Mustari are facing involving a monster assaulting some sacred snakes. Take this request and, as soon as you can before September deadline arrives, head to Orbwise Path. You’ll know you’re on the right track if the only reward shown for your efforts will be “Imagination.”

This is a fairly straightforward dungeon. There will be a few sections where you’ll have opportunities to leap down from a higher ledge to a lower area, but there will be opportunities to open doors via switches to make your progress deeper into the area faster.

Once you reach the end of the area, you’ll find the Kokasadors Bird Monster that is attacking the snakes in Metaphor: ReFantazio. Before the fight begins, you’ll be forced to rearrange your party to ensure both the protagonist and Junah are in it. The best thing you can do here is use fire-based attacks to swiftly wipe it out. If Junah is still a Masked Dancer, Infernal Vortex and Crimson Flame will be a big help here. I also recommend characters with Wizard-level Botra magic, if anyone has it. Avoid ice-based attacks, as Kokasadors will just reflect it.

Once you win, you immediately get Health Incense and a Tower White Mask as rewards. You’ll also get points toward the Imagination Royal Virtue stat, as promised. More importantly, you’ll be able to start taking part in Bond events with Junah and have others learn the Masked Dancer Archetype in Metaphor: ReFantazio. Note that to have someone learn that role, they will need to be at least a Rank 10 Thief, Rank 15 Mage, and have 11,000 MAG.

Metaphor: ReFantazio is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. There is also a demo available.
