Best Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom Monster Echoes

Throughout the game, the titular Princess Zelda can learn dozens of echoes that she can summon with her enigmatic wand, like everyday furniture items such as pots and beds. But Zelda can also create replica echoes of the formidable monsters she has triumphantly defeated. This list will include some of the best monster echoes in Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.

Chompfin

If watching Jaws has ever taught me anything, sharks are terrifying creatures of the sea, and this is no different in Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. In nearly every combat scenario underneath the water, Chompfin will absolutely annihilate the adversary you’re trying to take down. You can even heavily rely on Chompfin for significant portions of the boss battle with Lord Jabi-Jabu and Vacavor, as he deals such enormous damage. Don’t let this sea creature get its teeth stuck into you.

Peahat

Peahat is the perfect countermeasure for attacking long-ranged enemies in the first hour or two of the game. This plant will spin slightly above the ground and can land multiple attacks in succession if it is near the opponent. The only drawback is that Peahat’s attacks are not the most powerful, so it may take quite a few hits to knock out an opponent, but when it can be hard to land attacks on creatures, you will find yourself thankful to have Peahat underneath your belt of echoes.

Boomerang Boarblin Lv.2

You can learn this snout creature in the first few hours, and honestly, you will find yourself using him long afterwards. As the name suggests, Boomrange Boarblin Lv.2 has a deadly boomerang, allowing him to hit enemies far away. This is a perfect offensive method when attacking creatures that fly in the sky, as they cannot dodge the incoming aerial attack. Boomerang Boarblin Lv.2 is another creature excellent for boss battles, as his long-distance approach will allow you to concentrate on the battle at hand without worrying about constantly summoning new echoes.

Platboom

Platboom is technically a creature, but sometimes it feels like a lift, as this unusual and almost anarchist monster will try to crush everything in its way. This creature will lift itself to a great height in the air and then suddenly crash onto the ground. However, if you jump onto Platboom while it heads up, you can reach almost every high platform. Additionally, if you summon item echoes like the trampoline or the flying tile on Platboom, you can easily reach every portion of the main map.

Lynel

The absolute powerhouse centaur beast is back in Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom and is arguably the best echo you can summon in the entire game. Although you can encounter Lynel reasonably early on if you know where he is located on the map, Tri will need to gain six tails before you can use him, which is close to the end of the game. Lynel can make mince meat out of most foes with a few simple swings of his colossal sword. When you gain access to Lynel, you will unlikely use any other monster echo.
