All Available Classes in Diablo 4 and Vessel of Hatred

There are five total classes available in the base game of Diablo 4. In addition to those initial five, the Vessel of Hatred expansion adds a sixth class for players to check out. That new class is completely new to the series. Here are all six of the classes that are available in Diablo 4 and its expansion Vessel of Hatred:

  • Barbarian
  • Druid
  • Necromancer
  • Rogue
  • Sorceress
  • Spiritborn: New in Vessel of Hatred

The Barbarian is the quintessential melee class. Able to use an unbelievable amount of weapons and weapon slots, this is the class for players who want to deal tons of damage up close and personal. While Barbarian will be receiving a rework, it’s one of the more durable classes. Especially if you build up Thorns.

Then there is the Druid. It is able to transform into a variety of animal forms like werewolves and more. This provides the Druid with a surprising level of depth and variety. It has some of the strongest possible builds and flexibility when it comes to ranged damage, melee, and AOE attacks. Even if you will be spending most of your time in Werebear or Werewolf form in the end game.

The Necromancer is exactly what it sounds like: the undead summoner of the group, able to bring back the dead to life. There is a lot to understand when it comes to constantly managing minions and the various cooldowns. Thankfully, it is quite accessible compared to other classes. I also find it quite fun as my personal favorite class.

Rogue is the jack-of-all-trades and master of none. It has access to the stealthy assassin gameplay you might expect from this class, plus advantages at both close range and long distances with ranged attacks with a bow and a set of daggers. The versatility is impressive but it can be one of the tougher classes to excel at, with its mobility and depth. Especially since it will require you to do a lot of clicking.

Sorceress is the crowd control master. This magical class has access to all sorts of elemental attacks, allowing for various status effects to build up on enemies and burst them down with damage. This is a huge benefit against the various enemies you come across. Sorceress has the potential for some of the most damage output out of all the classes. However, it trades this for weak vitality and the potential for a high learning curve.

Finally, there is the new class in Spiritborn. This expansion class is from the jungles of Nahantu. There are four animal Spirit Guardians it can use to fight in combat: the Gorilla, Jaguar, Eagle, and Centipede. They each have their own purposes and specialties and specific elemental effects. For example, Jaguar excels in burn damage, and Centipede form dishes out poison like nobody’s business.

Diablo 4 is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Vessel of Hatred releases on October 8, 2024.
