How to Get Bungo in Moonstone Island

Bungo is one of four new Spirits added to Moonstone Island as part of the festival update. It’s a Dark type Spirit, which means it can only be obtained at higher levels from the small group of islands at the edge of the map.

Where to Find Bungo in Moonstone Island

Like all Dark Spirits in Moonstone Island, Bungo can only be found on one of the furthest islands on the map. They’re noticeably a dark shade of purple, and are usually found hidden off at the edge of the map. For me, all the Dark islands are in the south-east corner of the map. However, the composition of islands is randomized for each playthrough, so your location will likely be different.

These Dark islands are always high-level locations, so you’ll find Bungo somewhere around level 50 or 60. They also drain your health gradually due to their intense atmosphere, so you’ll need to be careful. If you’ve already caught Dark Spirits before and crafted the protection item from the Spirit Barn drops, this will help. However, if this is your first time, you just have to stock up on stamina healing items.

Bungo is a rare appearance on these islands. It looks like a mouse in overalls, if it had been flattened slightly. You’ll see it waddling around, where it looks a little out of place next to some of the more menacing Dark Spirit designs. Bungo will also occasionally show up in fights alongside other Spirits, but this isn’t always guaranteed.

What Skills Does Bungo Have?

Bungo is a risky Spirit to use in Moonstone Island based on the initial batch of cards you’re likely to obtain from it. Many of them are attacks that damage Bungo but will help you stack Energy. This can be useful but you have to be careful how you manage its health. Fortunately, it does also come with the Steal Life card, which can help you recover some of this self-inflicted damage. However, there’s only one initially, so the chances of drawing this are much lower than with the damaging cards. It’s good practice to make sure you have plenty of healing items ready to go just in case.

Bungo’s passive ability is only really useful if you’re low on resources. Bungovision operates like a Psychic Sight Potion, which shows the exact location of a Psychic Storm on your map. However, this isn’t the most useful ability due to how late you’re likely to get this Spirit. You’re much more likely to stumble on a Psychic Storm before you locate the Dark islands, and once you’ve got at least one Psychic Spirit in your Spirit Barn, crafting a Psychic Sight Potion is very easy.

Unfortunately, Bungo isn’t the most useful of the new Spirits, and there are much better options elsewhere if you need a good Dark Spirit. But if you just want a mouse in overalls waddling around after you, then feel free to use it.

Moonstone Island is out now for PC and Switch.
