After you reach Gerudo Town in Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, you can take on many side quests, including Gerudo Tag Training, where you must beat a Gerudo soldier in a classic game of tag. However, you will never catch her if you aimlessly run around. Here, we explain a method that we used to catch the soldier in no time flat.
Where do you find the Gerudo soldier
To begin this quest, you will have to gain access to Gerudo Town, which will happen after you meet Dohna during the main quest line. You can immediately take on this quest when you reach Gerudo Town.
To activate this side quest, you will want to chat with the soldier in question and accept their invitation to play tag. The soldier can be found on the northwest side of Gerudo Town. Here is a screenshot of the exact location you need to go above.
How to catch the soldier in the Gerudo Tag Training side quest
As mentioned previously, if you run after the soldier like a headless chicken, you will never catch her as she is too agile. As you might expect with all the puzzling action until now, you will need to use the Tri Rod’s ability to create echoes to beat her.
The moment you start the quest, go right and then head down when you come across a small staircase, which will take you outside Gerudo Shop. By the giant staircase, there is a defensive wall encircling Gerudo Town. You will want to use the angle of the defensive wall to your advantage to block the soldier’s path so she has nowhere else to run.
For this, you will want to place three to four beds from the corner of the wall to the building on the right and ensure there are no gaps between the beds. We have provided a screenshot, giving you a rough idea of what it should look like after it’s done.
When you have completed this, head back to the soldier. If you never chased after her, head back up the mini staircase and head right, and you should stumble across her. Proceed with chasing the soldier, and eventually, she will run into the beds you have placed. When she is trapped in the blocked corner you have created, go up to the soldier and press A to tag her. You will have to be quick, as she can backtrack on herself if you leave her for too long. If this happens, simply chase after her again until she runs into the corner.
After you have finished the Gerudo Tag Training quest, you will obtain six pieces of chilly cactus as a reward.
