There is a trailer for the Gundam TCG Project, which you can view here. It’s under a minute long.

Unfortunately, the teaser doesn’t provide any details. It shows the logo of the project, as well as various cards with the logo on their back floating through space.

Some of the people in the comments express surprise that Bandai will be releasing a physical TCG for the Gundam series. Others comment on past games, such as War and Super Robot Wars V Crusade, with Crusade in particular garnering a lot of nostalgia and positive attention. War debuted in Japan in 1999, and an English version came out in early 2005. Though the English version was discontinued after only three sets, the Japanese version was discontinued after 45.

Gundam War is now out of print. But it was based on the original anime series (so Universal Century) before expanding to include Turn A, Wing, Seed, 00, G, and such. Considering the popularity of series set in timelines other than Universal Century, we can expect to see the same thing with this new Gundam TCG project as well.

More information on the new Gundam TCG will come out on October 3, 2024.
