During the Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2024 showcase, Square Enix revealed Legend of Mana and Trials of Mana as Xbox Series X shadowdrop games. Both are immediately available to purchase digitally. In addition, each one is also now part of the Xbox Game Pass lineup.
While it is the older of the two games, Trials of Mana is the more expensive of the two Xbox Series X releases in the series. It is available for $49.99, should you buy it on its own. This is the full 3D remake of the game that originally appeared on the Super Famicom in Japan. This launch also marked the first time it ended up being released worldwide. Your runs through the story can feel different each time, as you’re always picking from among six characters to form a party of six that includes one as the hero and two as supporting allies.
Here’s the latest trailer, as a reminder for how it works:
Meanwhile, the Legend of Mana Xbox Series X game is slightly less expensive. It comes in at $29.99. However, this is a remaster of the PlayStation title, rather than a full remake like Trials of Mana. After you choose your avatar, you make decisions that reshape the world. As you do, you end up unlocking different stories. So depending on your choices, you might end up seeing different tales and supporting characters during runs.Â
Legend of Mana and Trials of Mana are both available on the PS4, Switch, Xbox Series X and S, PC, and mobile devices, and both games are on Xbox Game Pass.
