Where Is the LOZ Echoes of Wisdom Missing Cat in Kakariko Village?

In The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, the “Questioning the Local Cats” storyline involves helping an elderly man in Kakariko Village find his missing cat and getting some Cat Clothes as new equipment for Zelda. However, finding the missing animal is quite involved!

Where do I find the missing cat in “Questioning the Local Cats” in LOZ: Echoes of Wisdom?

First, talk to the old man just north of the item shop in Kakariko Village after the Eldin Volcano rift is fixed. He’ll mention his cat is missing. He was going to buy Cat Clothes from the item shop, which allow you to speak with all felines, to find out where his pet went. However, a woman bought them first. This kicks off “Questioning the Local Cats” in LOZ: Echoes of Wisdom.

Walk immediately south to the item shop and speak to the woman. She bought the Cat Clothes to ask one cat below the windmill on the east side of town to move so she could dig up her treasure. She’s allergic to cats, however! She’ll give you the outfit in exchange for you getting the cat to move from the spot. 

Go over to the cat. If you completed a sidequest involving the Grilled Fish item echo in the Jabul region earlier in the game, plop that item down next to the cat in front of the windmill. It will move. After it does, use a Holmill echo on the spot where it was sleeping. You’ll dig up the woman’s treasure. An automatic scene will appear that will show you getting the Cat Clothes.

Put those on in the accessories and clothing section of the main menu. Go to the windmill near the west exit of town. Place echoes to reach the cat sitting on top of it. I recommend water blocks, but a Crawltula or old beds will work too. Speak to the cat to learn the missing cat in LOZ: Echoes of Wisdom is sleeping on top of a tree along the road out of the east exit of Kakariko Village.

Talk to the calico cat in the tree. Head back to town. Talk with the old man. You’ll get three Refreshing Grapes and get to keep the Cat Clothes once the quest is done.
