SEGA and DC Comics have announced a new collaboration, DC x Sonic Generations, set to launch in March 2025. The crossover will feature a monthly comic series written by Sonic the Hedgehog writer Ian Flynn. The series will run until 2026 and will include Sonic characters reimagined as DC superheroes.

During a recent Sonic Central livestream, SEGA and DC provided a preview of the crossover, revealing characters like Shadow as Batman, Knuckles as Superman, Amy as Wonder Woman, and Sonic as The Flash. Alongside the comic series, the collaboration will include various merchandise and licensed products. This crossover marks the beginning of a long-term partnership between SEGA and DC Comics, with plans for more content and media releases beyond 2025.
In related news, Sega has revealed the release date for the Sonic x Shadow Generations: Dark Beginnings anime series, which will serve as a prologue to the upcoming Sonic x Shadow Generations game. The first episode, titled Shadow and Maria, will premiere on September 25, 2024, on the official Sonic the Hedgehog YouTube channel.
The DC x Sonic comic series will begin its run in March 2025. Sonic x Shadow Generations will come to the PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC on October 25, 2024.
