With World of Warcraft The War Within reinvigorating interest in the near two decades old MMORPG, you might be wondering what the release date for the next expansion, Midnight, might be. We’ve answered that question below!

What is the World of Warcraft Midnight Expansion Release Date

The Midnight expansion is expected to release sometime after The War Within. Yes, that’s extremely vague. However, Blizzard Entertainment has not shared a prospective window of release, or year. In an interview with Inverse, World of Warcraft Executive Producer did reveal that development on the expansion is well on the way. This includes development on World of Wacraft The Last Titan, which is set to be the conclusion of the three part Worldsoul Saga.

World of Warcraft The War Within is the first part of the saga and released in August 2024. You can read about our experience with the expansion here. The expansion sets up major events, and the Worldsoul Saga’s villain, Xa’latath, a character that was previous contained to a dagger players could obtain in-game.

With the release of The War Within has arrived an entirely new content, and more recently, a new raid in the form of Nerub-Ar Palace. Future content updates for The War Within includes giving addition class options to the Dracthyr, and in-game events to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the MMO.

World of Warcraft, and The War Within expansion, is available for PC.
