Sony announced a PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection PS5 Pro, PS5 Digital Edition, PS Portal, and Dualsense controller. All of the devices and bundles associated with the items, which feature color schemes and designs based on the original PS1 system, will be available to pre-order starting on September 26, 2024. As you may expect, these will be limited edition items.
A video with CEO Hideaki Nishino and Global Content Communications Manager Kristen Zitani went over more details about the PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection PS5 Pro, PS5 digital, PS Portal, and Dualsense controller. All of the items appear in shades of grey, with the original PS icon on it. In the case of console, the panels and main bodies are the same color. There is also the PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection note and new logos on it, as well as a new stand. The PS5 Pro will have a unit number on it too.
The original color logo appears on other accessories, like the controller, as well. The Dualsense USB cord also has the same larger end piece as the original PS1 controller’s cord. Console bundles include the controller, though that is sold separately. You also can’t get this PS Portal in any bundles.
Here’s the full announcement video. It didn’t announce any prices or release date. Only the pre-order date appeared.
As a reminder, the PS5 Pro is still a ways away. We’ll see that launch in November 2024. The pre-orders for the standard version of that system aren’t live yet, but some product listings are online already.
The pre-orders for the PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection PS5 Pro, PS5 Digital Edition, PS Portal, and Dualsense controller will open on September 26, 2024.
