Bethesda is far from done with its open-world space RPG Starfield. Players can look forward to the first major DLC expansion for the game about a year after its initial release. Here’s everything you need to know about the Starfield Shattered Space DLC, including its exact release date, price, and how you can buy it.
Starfield Shattered Space DLC Release Date & Price
The Shattered Space DLC release date isn’t too far away by the time you read this, as it comes out on September 30, 2024. That is just over a year after the game originally came out. The DLC on its own costs $29.99 USD and that’s it. That is on top of the $69.99 you need to pay for the base game, but there are other ways to acquire it.
For instance, you can buy the Digital Premium Edition of the game for $99.99 and you get both the base game and DLC, plus some other goodies, altogether. Or, if you already own the game but want to get Shattered Space, some credits, skin packs, and the like, you can pay $34.99 to upgrade to the Digital Premium Edition.
Finally, there are those of you who have Game Pass. On there, you get Starfield essentially for “free” as long as you subscribe. However, you will need to purchase the DLC separately to play it. And if you unsubscribe at any point, you will not be able to play the DLC or base game until you resubscribe or purchase the entire game.
All New Content in Shattered Space, Explained
The Starfield Shattered Space DLC comes with a lot for players to enjoy on top of the base content and its countless planets. Instead of adding a ton of new planets, there is a single new planet we know about in this expansion: Va’ruun’kai. This planet is full of 50 new areas to explore, the return of pirates and other enemies, new weapons, and more.
This single planet is noted to be “handcrafted” so that is exciting. In addition, the story will focus on the mysterious House Va’ruun.
Starfield is available right now for Xbox Series X/S and PC. Shattered Space will release on September 30, 2024.
