Namco Bandai formally unveiled the next title in the Tales series. The trademarks we found were right on the money, the game is Tales of Xillia.
A scan from Jump reveals the game has two heroes designed by two different artists. Kosuke Fujishima (Tales of Symphonia / Abyss) designed the male lead, Jute Mathis. He’s a student studying medicine in the royal capital to become a physician. Jute is fighting to save a friend. Mira Maxwell, the female lead, was created by Mutsumi Inomata (Destiny / Graces). She calls herself "chief of the deceased spirits" and is a master of the four primary elements (fire, earth, water, and wind). Without hesitation she will carry out her mission. The magazine doesn’t state what that is.
While Tales of Xillia has a more serious look, Namco Bandai did not drop the series’ signature anime style.
Tales of Xillia is slated for 2011 and it’s the first game in the series to be on PlayStation 3 first.
A tip of the hat and stone fist handshake to B.K. for sending us the scan. Thanks!
