Best Zenless Zone Zero Bangboo S-rank and A-rank Options

A Bangboo is your best buddy in Zenless Zone Zero. You can add one of these rabbit-like mascots to your team after reaching a certain point in the story. Once you do, they’re an autonomous ally who can offer a bit of offensive or supportive aid. However, some are a bit better than others.

Now, you might see that “S-rank” and automatically assume that Bangboo is the absolute best and one you should always be using on your teams. But that isn’t always the case! The S-ranks also have specialized natures to them, which means you get additional ability bonuses if you have two or more characters from the same crew (like Amillion, Butler, or Safety) or with the same elements (such as Plugboo, Resonaboo, or Sharkboo) in your team at the time. So it’s actually better to really check their skills and bonuses, as it could mean some just aren’t as helpful unless you like certain Agents.

Here are the best Bangboo S-rank characters I recommend:

  • Amillion: Its Portable Machine Gun – Debt-Clearer active skill does a lot of Physical damage. Also, since you get three Cunning Hares Agents to start, it’s easy to meet the Street Code additional ability that means its Chain Attack damage will go up by up to 45% depending on how few enemies are around when it is used. (Time that for when you’re facing off against one boss or one enemy!)
  • Butler: To be clear, Butler is best if you have two Victoria Housekeeping folks on the team for the Personal Butler skill that increases the amount of energy restored with the Tea Break skill. However, this is the only S-rank Bangboo that does regenerate that valuable energy, so it’s worth it even if you don’t meet that requirement for the extra buff.
  • Resonaboo: The Mini-Black Hole Active Skill is amazing! It’s like having Nicole around all the time. It sets up a black hole that pulls in enemy and does Ether damage. If you have two Ether Agents around at once (like Zhu Yuan and Nicole), its Chain Attack does 100% more Anomaly damage.
  • Sharkboo: While you might not have enough Ice characters to trigger the Cold Surge Additional Ability that increases Anomaly buildup during a Chain Attack, the Active Skill is very good! This Bangboo places homing “bomb” traps that deal ice damage with Drylands Shark Hunt. I like it, as it really goes after foes.

Best A-rank Bangboo in Zenless Zone Zero

So you’re going to probably end up with a lot of A-rank Bangboo. It’s the nature of the gacha! While they in general don’t have stats as strong as an S-rank and don’t have Chain-Attack bonuses ability, some can be really helpful in a pinch!

Here are the A-rank Bangboo I suggest you use. You know, if you get them.

  • Avocaboo: I don’t really find myself needing Avocaboo, but it could be of use later in the game. This is a healer Bangboo. Its Sweet and Juicy skill either shoots characters to restore their health or leaves a puddle of juice you can walk through for healing. If a Support character is in your party, it will heal even more.
  • Booressure: This Bangboo probably won’t restore as much energy as Butler. However, it’s still an energy generating Bangboo! That’s really handy and helps your team out tons. If you have one Support type Agent with you, which you should, it also generates off-field character energy too.
  • Exploreboo: I don’t appreciate the random nature of Exploreboo. However, I do like that you have a chance of getting some energy, some health, or a shield. If you have a Supporter on your team, all those effects are boosted. It’s pretty helpful.
  • Magnetiboo: I feel like Magentiboo is sort of a discount Resonaboo when it comes to crowd control. The character’s Magnetic Lock-On pulls in nearby enemies, which helps with AOE attacks, and damages them. If you also have an Anomaly ally around, then that attack’s range and damage increases.
