Final Fantasy XIV ‘s Weekly Reset, the marker for the beginning of the week’s content, is an industry wide gaming tradition for MMOs and ongoing games. This can mark when new patch content becomes available and when changes from one take effect. In addition, when the Weekly Reset does happen players can obtain things such as currency for Normal and Alliance Raids in FFXIV.
When Does the FFXIV Weekly Reset Happen?
The FFXIV weekly reset occurs on Tuesday of each week. The exact time Weekly Resets reset can alter depending on if Daylight Savings is observed in the region in which you are playing the game. Here is a list of when Weekly Resets will occur according to Data Center and region:
- EST: 3am (North American)
- PST: 12am (North American)
- GMT: 8am (European)
- CET: 9am (European)
- JST: 5pm (Japanese)
- AET: 6pm (Oceanian)
What resets?
Every week, certain activities are available for players to work toward in FFXIV. These are everything from the challenge logs that give valuable EXP for jobs and extra Gil in game, the Wondrous Tails challenge bingo activity that gives massive rewards if the activities you complete fill in full lines, and, most importantly, allows players to gain more endgame Tomestone currency and tokens for gear.
The things that reset each week vary, but are usually much longer term activities. Caps are removed on currencies, and tokens players earn for completing certain tiers of content can be earned again. In general, every expansion cycle resets the following each week:
- Latest Weekly 8-Man Raid Weapon Tokens
- 8-Man Raid Treasure
- 24-Man Alliance Raid Gear Pieces
- 24-Man Alliance Raid Upgrade Token
- Current Tomestone Cap
- Custom Deliveries
- Doman Enclave Restoration Deliveries
- Elite Hunt Marks
- Faux Hollows
- Grand Company Squadron Missions
- Jumbo Cactpot Lottery Tickets
- Wondrous Tails
- Weekly Challenge Logs
With the FFXIV Dawntrail expansion getting its new 8-Man Raids, the first of three tiers of the new Arcadion Raid series, players are only able to acquire one token for a piece of gear from each of the four encounters each week. They will need to wait for FFXIV‘s next weekly reset once they get their pieces before the encounters reward them with anything new apart from the Orchestrion Rolls and Minions. This will be true of the Savage mode coming in patch 7.05, the new tier of weekly capped Tomestones, and the 24-man raid Echoes of Vana’diel in patch 7.1.
Final Fantasy XIV and the new expansion Dawntrail are available now on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X and PC.
