Nintendo Ties Feature Icons From Classic Games

Nintendo Kyoto started to sell some Nintendo-themed ties that look fashionable and formal, while letting you proclaim your love for certain games. The ties come in a bright red and a dark navy blue (with red accents) and are only available at the one location.

These ties are exclusive to Nintendo Kyoto, which means they’re not available in the Tokyo or Osaka stores. They’re part of a collaboration with Nekado, a tie company in Kyoto that was established in 1940. Ties from Nekado use nishijin-ori silk, as well as produce a rather unique feel and shine. Nekado does offer international shipping. However, it’s unclear if it will deliver these Nintendo ties outside of Japan, as Nekado does not feature these products on its webpage.

The Nintendo Kyoto website does not have any information on the ties. Nekado ties can get pretty pricey, such as 13,200 JPY ($82.10) for a traditional design. Since these are collaboration ties, they might be more expensive than that. The red tie features silhouettes of recognizable Nintendo characters, such as Pikmin, Mario, Link, and Isabelle. Meanwhile, the blue tie features symbols like the Triforce, the Pikmin logo, and the Animal Crossing logo.

The Nintendo ties are exclusive to Nintendo Kyoto and are not available online.
