Square Enix and FFXIV Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida announced free game time will be doled out to all players as a result of Dawntrail bugs and issues. Depending on the platform, people will get between two and ten extra days added to their subscription starting on July 10, 2024.
The difference in free FFXIV game time due to Dawntrail varies based on platform. People who play on the PS4, PS5, or PC will only get two extra days. This is essentially compensation for congestion issues. Part of it is to also make up for the issue that kept some PS4 and PS5 people from being able to log in or play. Someone needs to own the full version and have it registered to their account and have an active subscription that was live on July 4, 2024.
People playing on an Xbox Series X who own the full game and were subscribed as of July 4, 2024 will get 10 days of FFXIV free game time following the Dawntrail problems. This is because they are entitled to the two days everyone will get for the above congestion issues. However, since the MMORPG is freezing on this console, anyone playing on this platform who meets the requirements gets an additional eight days.
This is just one measure to help address feedback and make up for FFXIV and Dawntrail bugs and issues. Another involves a series of job adjustments. Between 7.01 and 7.05, people will see changes made to classes like the Astrologian, Black Mage, Monk, Pictomancer, and Viper.
Final Fantasy XIV and its Dawntrail expansion are available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
