Perhaps the most important part of an MMO like Final Fantasy XIV is how your character looks. If you don’t love your character, you might not enjoy the game as much. It is now possible to get a free Fantasia to change your appearance with the release of the FFXIV new Dawntrail expansion and patch 7.0.
Where do I get a free Fantasia in FFXIV Dawntrail and 7.0?
If you want to get a free Fantasia for yourself, all you need to do is head on over to Ul’dah. What is intriguing this time around is the Fantasia isn’t a gift sent to your mailbox or anything like that, such as in the past. Instead, you need to complete a certain short quest to get it as a reward.
You can find the quest, known as “Bottled Fantasy,” at the following location:
- Ul’dah – Steps of Thal: X: 13.4, Y: 9.2
This is a level one quest, however, you must have completed “The Scions of the Seventh Dawn” first. As long as you have done that quest, you can do this to unlock a free Fantasia. It is a quick and easy quest with just a few cutscenes to watch (or skip).
How does Fantasia work in FFXIV Dawntrail and 7.0?
Note that this free Fantasia in FFXIV doesn’t require you to own Dawntrail, just to update to the new patch 7.0. Yes, even the free trial players are able to get one. This is due to the new graphical update. It significantly changed how players look, so this is here to let you change whatever you like now.
How the Fantasia works is you consume it. Then the next time you log in, you will find yourself back at the character creator screen. Here, you can literally do whatever you want. You can change your race, gender, hairstyle, eyes, and anything else about your character’s appearance.
After you change it, you get 60 minutes to run around the world, see how it looks, and you can change your character as many times as you want in that hour. But once the 60 minutes are up, you’re stuck at whatever appearance you have until you use another Fantasia (which usually costs real-world currency).
Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail is available right now for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
